Pacemaker, ICD, CRT-P & CRT-D Implantation

Advanced cardiac device implantation for slow heart rhythms, life-threatening arrhythmias and selected heart failure cases.

Pacemaker, ICD, CRT-P & CRT-D Implantation

Pacemaker and implantable cardiac defibrillator procedures are used to manage specific heart rhythm disorders. A pacemaker can provide electrical stimulation when the heart's natural rhythm is too slow or when electrical conduction through the heart is impaired.

An Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) continuously monitors the heart rhythm and can deliver therapy when certain serious ventricular arrhythmias occur. Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy devices, including CRT-P and CRT-D, are used in selected patients with heart failure and electrical conduction abnormalities.

Implantation involves positioning the appropriate cardiac device and, where applicable, its pacing or defibrillation leads under imaging guidance. Device programming and follow-up are important parts of long-term management to ensure that the system is appropriately configured for the patient's cardiac requirements.
